We get so occupied with work everyday that we might overlook a lot of nice things in life. These are what I saw this afternoon! Is it blooming season? I seriously don't know the names of the flowers but i thought they looked nice and deserve to have their pictures displayed online before they wither away..

Unfortunately, my camera isn't really up to the standards, so they aren't as nice as they were in reality. I've decided to enhance the photos.. although it looks abit plastic now :(

I am not sure what is wrong with Singapore Power. I've paid up the total amount on the bill and they still send me a late payment letter indicating that i've only paid half of the bill. What?!!?!!?!?!?! Where did the other half of my $ went to?

I've checked my bank statement and confirmed i've paid the full amount.... grrrrrrrrr........

Perfect Work Space
posted by starie at Wednesday, June 25, 2008 11:19:04 PM | Desires

This is a nice article on the tips of a perfect work space:

http://lifedev.net/2008/04/15-features-of-the-perfect-work-space/

Of the 15 points that were mentioned, i totally agree with the following points:

2. Nice view - If you’re working out of your closet, odds are you don’t have very good natural sunlight or an aesthetically pleasing view. Try putting the desk near a window to add some natural lighting and something interesting to look at every now and again.

It is always good to take time off to appreciate what Mother Nature has in place for us :)

3. Good chair - Oh my. If there was one piece of furniture that I’d gladly plunk down some coin for, it’s the office chair. It will really make or break your overall working experience. It’s one of those items that the more you pay for, the better it will be.

This is so true! I am having backaches nowadays due to the ergonomics of the chair. Ouch, my back

8. No clutter - Clutter is an aesthetic problem as well as a mental problem. Cluttered work spaces give create cluttered thinking. Your mind will never be as clear as it could be with a messy, unorganized environment. This also includes your desktop clutter as well.

Haha I've just tidied up my desk :P

9. Your own space - You have to have a place to call your own in order to get into the flow of work. A place where your brain can say “ahh… this is where the magic happens” and productivity abounds.

Totally agree. Space, my OWN space where the magic happens without distraction.

I find this point particularly humourous:

Fountains - There’s nothing quite as relaxing as the sound of running water. Try adding a little fountain in your office to add this relaxing noise. However, don’t make the mistake of buying a mammoth fountain that’s usually reserved for the gardens. It will totally dominate the noise of the room and will make you have to pee every 2.5 minutes on average. Not great for productivity.
